Americas Advisory People Leader

Carl Smith is a member of Ernst & Young’s Americas Advisory Services executive team. He is currently serving as the Americas Advisory People Leader for a practice of 8,200 professionals providing Performance Improvement, Risk Management and IT Risk and Assurance services in the US, Canada, Mexico, Central America, South America and Israel. 

His responsibilities cover all of the people-related functions of recruiting, acquisitions, learning and development, “experience management” (RP&D), inclusiveness/diversity, performance management, HR operations and partner matters.

Previously, Carl was the leader of Ernst & Young’s re-entry into the Performance Improvement Advisory business in the Americas and served as a member of the Global Advisory leadership team. Prior to joining Ernst & Young, Carl was a member of the executive leadership team at TXU Communications. Prior to TXUC, Carl held leadership roles at Cap Gemini and Gemini Consulting. Carl has a BS in Psychology from Grove City College, with graduate work at NYU. He is married and lives in Atlanta, GA.
